A CLEARER PICTURE
Your privacy.
Here’s what to know.
This page explains how the VortexDL service by Vortex Studios handles information when you download, create an optional account or contact support.
Updated 24 October 2026
Downloads work without an account
You can submit public links and download available files as a guest. Your request still passes through the download service: guest use does not mean the request is anonymous to the website’s hosting or network providers.
Information used to prepare a download
The service processes the source URL you submit, available item metadata, the selected format and quality, and the files needed to prepare your download. Request metadata, including a protected hash derived from your IP address, is used to limit abuse and manage the queue.
Download URLs contain temporary access keys. Anyone with a working download URL may be able to retrieve that download until it expires. Treat those URLs as private if the contents are personal.
Optional accounts and history
If you create an account, the service stores your username, password hash, account settings, session records and security settings. It stores your email address or phone number if you add one. Authenticator secrets are encrypted, and backup codes are stored as hashes.
Downloads started while signed in can be associated with your account as history. History includes details such as the item title, source address, status, format, date and file size. Unnecessary URL query strings and fragments are removed from saved history addresses; the public video identifier in a YouTube watch link is retained so you can reopen it; titles and URL paths can still contain information about what you downloaded.
The website uses browser session storage for your sign-in token. Signing out removes the token from that browser session and revokes the server session. No social media password or personal Facebook session is required for public downloads.
How long download data is kept
The supplied service normally expires scan results after 15 minutes and completed download files after one hour. Routine cleanup removes guest download metadata after 24 hours and signed-in download history after 90 days. Expired files and metadata are removed by the background cleanup process, so deletion can be delayed while the service is offline.
Account records remain until removed. Hosting logs, backups and support messages may have separate retention periods determined by their configuration and providers. Contact support to request help with account information or deletion; ownership checks may be needed.
Other services involved
Your request can involve Cloudflare for the website, the download API host, and the platform or file host for the source link. These providers receive the network information needed to handle the request and may keep their own logs.
If email or SMS verification is enabled, the delivery provider receives the contact details and message needed to deliver your code. Email, phone and WhatsApp support links open the corresponding service; using them is optional and subject to that service’s privacy practices.
This support website
The help center’s search and category filters run in your browser. They do not send your search text to the download API. There are no advertising or analytics scripts bundled with this support page.
If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to share, such as your address, message and attachments. Include only what is needed to investigate your issue. Never send passwords, one-time codes, backup codes, browser cookies or private documents.
